About the event

This event is hosted by Tariki Trust. To participate, you will need to purchase your ticket through Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/the-water-to-the-wound-dissolving-and-transforming-trauma-narratives-tickets-932404566157?aff=oddtdtcreator

In this three part workshop we will explore how concepts of trauma freeze us and restrict us, both collectively and personally. We ask the question: am I completely in agreement with being frozen? We explore if somewhere in how trauma is used to describe and contain us can be found cracks which invite in vegetal reimagining. Do you prune your vegetable plants to generate more branches? What can be found when we explore the abrasive tenderness of where trauma has impacted us? This is an overview of concepts of trauma, which move from dissolving narratives of disempowerment, into the teachings found in triggers, and finally through the flushing of the wound, with waters of myth and story. We will explore, among other myths, Medusa’s rape and transformation, and be guided by vegetal beings through invitations to take the work out into the land.

Please note that we do not record our online workshops. We kindly request that participants have their cameras switched on to engage with the series (where possible).

CPD Event: This event counts as Continuing Professional Development for counsellors, therapists and others in helping professions. We are happy to issue CPD certificates once you have attended the workshop. Simply message us through Eventbrite after the workshop/series is over and we will email your certificate.
